KUCHING: Two academic giants – UCSI University and Limkokwing University of Creative Technology – are offering scholarships for a range of their diploma and degree programmes under The Borneo Post Education Fund.
The awards are open to East Malaysian students. Eligible students can apply to any of the degree or foundation programmes leading to a degree programme offered at both universities.
The UCSI University Foundation is offering nine programmes under the UCSI-Borneo Post Education Fund for full and partial tuition fee waivers to candidates who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and active participation in extracurricular activities.
The programmes offered under the fund are Diploma in Hotel Management, Diploma in Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing (Hons), B Eng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, B Sc Actuarial Science, BCA (Hons) in 3D Animation Design, as well as BA (Hons) in Commerce, Event and Tourism Management and Hospitality Management.
To qualify for a full-tuition or partial tuition fee waiver for the foundation programme, the minimum requirements for SPM leavers are either 10A+/As or 7As in the relevant subjects, inclusive of the English language.
To be eligible for either a full or partial tuition fee waiver for their degree programmes, prospective students with A-Level accreditation must either have 3As or 3Bs, STPM, Malaysian MOHE Matriculation students and diploma holders must have a CGPA of 3.80 or 3.40 and above with relevant subjects taken into consideration, UEC with 8As or 5As, SAM and CPU with aggregates of 90 per cent or 80 per cent and above, while International Baccalaureate students must have 40 or 36 grade points and above.
Limkokwing is offering full tuition fee waivers for their four programmes offered under the fund namely diplomas in Mass Communication, Graphic Design, Architecture Technology and Interior Design.
The minimum requirement to qualify for a tuition fee waiver in their diploma programmes for SPM is 9As and above, O’Levels is 6As and above, A-Levels is 3As, STMP and Malaysian MOHE Matriculation students with 3.75-4.00 CGPA and above, and UEC with 8As and above in the relevant subjects.
All scholarship awards offered by the universities are subject to the terms and conditions stipulated in their application
