Following another round of educational scholarships to the
University of Arizona, Pima Community College and local school
districts, Rosemont Copper Company has committed $62,000 toward
education in the Tucson region for the 2011-2012 school year.
The University of Arizona will receive $25,000 for its Arizona
Assurance program, which provides financial assistance to in-state
students.
Another 18 scholarships have been awarded to high schools for
graduating seniors who are going to Pima Community College. Those
will be dispersed with $12,000 to Vail Unified School District,
$6,000 to Sahuarita Unified School District, $2,000 each to Tucson
and Sunnyside unified school districts, and $1,000 each to
Amphitheater Public Schools, Catalina Foothills, Flowing Wells and
Tanque Verde.
Additionally, Rosemont Copper has established $6,000 in
scholarship for military veterans and made direct gifts to
foundations of school districts, tripling the company’s commitment
to educational scholarship and financial aid programs from what it
did a year ago.
