5 from Franklin County area receive scholarships to Shippensburg University

SHIPPENSBURG — These students from our area have received scholarships to attend Shippensburg University:

Kara Mclaren — daughter of Don and Kim Devor, Fayetteville, Floyd M. and Dorothy Heisey Mains Scholarship. To graduate this month from CASHS, she plans to major in elementary education.

Sarah Paylor — daughter of Craig and Leslie Paylor and John and Linda Heuston, APSCUF/SU Department Student Award for the exercise science department. A 2007 McConnellsburg High School graduate, she graduated this spring from SU with a degree in exercise science. She was president of the Exercise Club.

Heather Rensch — daughter of Neil and Beth Rensch, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors Scholarship. To graduate this month from CASHS, she’ll major in chemistry with a pre-pharmacy concentration.

Elizabeth Davis — daughter of Susan Davis, Orrstown, History Department Scholarship. A 2008 Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School graduate, she is a junior history major. Davis is vice president of the Honors Program, has participated in several research projects and conferences and was a 2008 PASSGE Summer Honors Program scholarship recipient.

Kelsey Ebersole — daughter of Greg and Lori Ebersole, Greencastle, Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors Scholarship. She graduated this year from Shalom Christian Academy, near Marion, and plans to major in elementary education.
